On today’s show, I’m joined by the Rt. Hon. Alistair Carmichael — a member of the House of Commons since 2001, representing the Orkney and Shetland Islands.
Mr. Carmichael was kind enough to join me from his office in London this week to talk for over an hour. In this episode, we discuss a host of topics including: what was like growing up on Islay; what guides his decision-making process as a Member of Parliament; lessons learned while working in the hotel and restaurant industry; why a person should aspire to be in politics today; and some really important topics, too, like Mr. Carmichael’s Scotch whisky recommendations!
This show was so much fun to record, and I am grateful for Mr. Carmichael taking the time out of his busy schedule to chat. With responsibilities like representing his constituents in Parliament, it’s nice that Mr. Carmichael will still make time to check in with other Carmichaels from across the globe.
